LOS OSOS CARES WAS A RECIPIENT OF A 2020 DIGNITY HEALTH GRANT!

January 2020

We plan to prioritize areas of need and work to meet the needs of the most vulnerable in our community and ensure that individuals are being connected to available community resources and emergency needs.
We will be working with community partners, Transitions Mental Health Association, Dignity Health Community Outreach, St Benedicts Episcopal Church, and Alliance for Pharmaceutical Access. The grant will help subsidize the Los Osos Cares Free Community Dinners, Resource Center, Warming Shelter and Senior Program. Working with St Benedicts Laundry Love we will be able to expand the free laundry program to twice a month. In addition, we have created a questionnaire to ask seniors what they need in their prospective areas. This will help us focus of getting the need met. We will be hosting a Senior Health Fair in Los Osos on October 17, 2020. Dignity Health will be hosting Health /Wellness workshops throughout the year. Due to the COVID virus we are directing our outreach by social media, phone and email. We have resources to help seniors and those in our community get through this difficult time.

Los Osos Cares was a recipient of a 2020 Dignity Health Community Health Grant for BasicNeeds and Resource Navigation for the Estero Bay Community. The focus of this grant is tocreate a caring network of social services for seniors, low income families and homeless individuals in Los Osos, Morro Bay and Cayucos.
